The dramatised poetry of Sitiawa Namwalie, woven with music and dance, explores critical issues in modern-day Kenya: corruption, the post-election violence, and self-discovery.
Infused with humour and satire, rich in imagery, it invokes Kenyans to reclaim their own history. It is politics – and love – that is personal and palatable.
Storymoja Productions has been invited to perform in this year’s Hay Festival following sold out shows in East Africa. This will be their first UK performance. Storymoja is a Kenyan publishing venture formed by a collective of writers committed to publishing contemporary East African writing.
This production is presented by the Royal African Society
