Originally staged at the National Theatre in 1996, Shared Experience revives its thrilling production of Tolstoy’s masterpiece, War & Peace.

Painted on a vast canvas of locations, characters and experiences, Helen Edmundson’s stirring and human play is an intricate saga of families, love and friendship against a backdrop of war.

Shared Experience has captivated audiences the world over with its productions, fusing stunning visual imagery with its powerful physical style. Recent Shared Experience works include After Mrs Rochester, Jane Eyre, A Passage to India and Kindertransport. Multi-award-winning writer Helen Edmundson has written three hugely acclaimed stage adaptations for Shared Experience – Anna Karenina, Mill on the Floss and Orestes. Her other plays include The Clearing and Coram Boy at the National Theatre and on Broadway.
