ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR ALICE HAMILTON AMONG THE WINNERS OF THE OLWYN WYMARK AWARD

Hamsptead’s Associate Director Alice Hamilton is among the winners of the 19th Olwen Wymark Theatre Encouragement Awards.

The awards, presented by the Writers’ Guild of Great Britain, honour people who have supported and encouraged new writing.

Alice Hamilton was recognised for her support in developing the work of playwright Barney Norris.

Founded by playwrights Mark Ravenhill and David James, the Olwyn Wymark Awards were set up to give Writers’ Guild members the opportunity to publicly thank those who have given them a positive experience in new writing over the previous year. They are named in honour of playwright Olwen Wymark.

Alice’s production of Nineteen Gardens by Magdalena Miecznicka recently received critical acclaim and is currently playing Hampstead Downstairs until 9 December. Next, she will be directing Neil D’Souza’s Out of Season and Richard Malloy’s The Harmony Test
