BACKSTAGE TAKES WITH GEORGE BLAGDEN

What made you want to become an actor?

I remember seeing a production of The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe at Sadlers Wells Theatre when I was about 9 years old. We were doing it as a school play, and I had been cast as Edmund. I remember sitting in the audience, and thinking “That’s what I want to do when I grow up.”

What would your character’s drink of choice be?

French Martini – or anything suitably pink.

If you weren’t playing your character, which character in the show would you want to play and why?

……………the binaural head? HA! A lot of listening…….

If you weren’t an actor, what would you be?

A soldier. I think there’s a common theme of enjoying being told what to do.

What is your favourite moment in the show?

The heartbeat……come see it and you’ll find out……

What’s your favourite scary film or play?

I enjoy psychological thrillers…….but honestly, I’m a big wuss. I’m glad I’m in this one…..not sure I could sit through it without screaming!
