Charlie Beck
Role: Marcus
What made you want to become an actor?
When I was around 7/8 I was taken to an acting group and immediately fell in love with it. From then on I was set on wanting to do that as a career.
Which celebrity is your character most like and why?
Not a celebrity but a character; maybe a Jamie Tartt from Ted Lasso, due to initial cockiness, brashness, speaking without thinking. However he has a genuine earnest quality and more sensitivity below the surface.
What would your character’s drink of choice be?
Orange Lucozade
If you weren’t an actor, what would you be?
Nothing, I think I would just do odd jobs and travel as much as possible.
What is your favourite moment in the show?
In the final scene, when Tim makes his first joke to Marcus, it feels like a very earnest shared moment for both characters.
What’s your favourite picture you’ve ever seen or taken?

Gerard Horan
Role: Tim
What made you want to become an actor?
Shamefully, it was a desire to meet the girls from the Convent school with whom my all boys school did a school play co-production every year. It worked out fine.
Which celebrity is your character most like and why?
A cross between David Attenborough, Victor Meldrew and Norman Stanley Fletcher from “Porridge”
What would your character’s drink of choice be?
A really good cup of tea.
If you weren’t an actor, what would you be?
Miserable and quite possibly a virgin (see above).
What is your favourite moment in the show?
The moment just before we start.
What’s your favourite picture you’ve ever seen or taken?
Full disclosure: I am absolutely dreadful at taking photographs and would appear to have learnt nothing from Tim sadly. However there is a snap of my partner and children all howling with laughter from about 20 years that brings me joy every time I look at it.
Firewing plays the Downstairs until 23 May.
