If you arrive late we appreciate that you will want to take your seats as soon as possible. To limit disturbance to fellow audience members and artists, we may ask you to wait until a suitable break in the performance. Occasionally this may not be possible once the performance has started.
If you have unwanted tickets for a sold-out performance, you can return your tickets up to 48 hours before the performance start time and your tickets will usually be released on general sale for others to buy.
If you have unwanted tickets for a sold-out performance and you return your tickets less than 48 hours before the performance start time, we will endeavour to sell them on the day of the performance to customers queuing for returns, in-person at the box office.
Please note that we are unable to guarantee re-selling returned tickets.
If your tickets are successfully resold, the money will be placed in your box office customer account as credit to spend on a future purchase within one year. Credit can be spent on tickets, memberships or merchandise at Hampstead Theatre.
If you have unwanted tickets for a performance that is not sold out, we are unable to refund or resell your tickets.
PURCHASING RETURNED TICKETS
If you wish to purchase tickets for a sold out show, it is worth checking the website or calling the box office for returned tickets up to 48 hours before the performance in case any unwanted tickets have become available for resale.
On the day of the performance, the box office runs a returns queue for any tickets that have been returned within 48 hours of the performance.
The returns queue opens two hours before the performance start time and returns will be sold from that point as and when they become available. Two tickets per customer.
We have a seating area inside the building for the returns queue that can accommodate up to ten people.
We cannot guarantee that returns will be available.
TICKET EXCHANGES/CANCELLATIONS POLICY
There are no refunds. However, tickets may be exchanged for a later performance of the same production depending on availability and on condition that we receive notice at least 24 hours before the performance and the tickets are in our possession (7 days for group bookings). There is an administration fee of £2 per exchange. Please note we cannot exchange tickets for any West End Transfers. All sales for this type of ticket are final.
Even for productions which have previously sold out we cannot guarantee successful resale of returned tickets. You can transfer tickets to a relative or friend who can collect the tickets at box office if the confirmation e-mail is presented on the day of performance.
Please contact the box office for more information or to make arrangements for an exchange or return.
Due to the layout of the theatre and the proximity of the audience to the stage, if you leave the auditorium during the performance, we may ask you to wait until a suitable break. On some occasions, this may not be possible.
