James Fritz has been awarded The Critics’ Circle Award for Best New Playwright for Four Minutes Twelve Seconds.
James Fritz’s major stage debut, Four Minutes Twelve Seconds, first previewed at Hampstead Downstairs in 2014 to sold out audiences, before opening at Trafalgar Studios in November 2015 to great critical acclaim.
Four Minutes Twelve Seconds is a deeply provocative and topical drama that throws a light on the sorts of insidious opportunities new technology offers – where nothing dies online, except reputation.
Following its initial run at Hampstead Downstairs, James received an Olivier Award nomination for the Award for Outstanding Achievement in an Affiliate Theatre.
He has also been tipped for stardom in 2016 by the Evening Standard, including him in ‘London’s 16 fresh faces for 2016’.
Hampstead Theatre would like to congratulate all of today’s winners.
